INFORMACIÓN PARA EL AUDITORI

Hoy ha sido nuestro último ensayo general antes del gran día del Auditori y, aunque ha habido momentos de "descordinación", todo ha salido geeeeeeenial. Además ha sido todo un honor compartir ensayo con Bridget Bazili y su grupo.

Bueno, vamos al grano... Muy importante a tener en cuenta para el día 23:

- El repertorio que cantaremos será:

- Amazing Grace

- This little light

- Down by the Riverside

- Oh when the Saints

- Jesus is my Lord

- Oh happy day!

- Joyful

- Tenemos que ESTAR TODOS a las 17:30h en la PUERTA PARA ARTISTAS (qué bien suena, no?, puerta situada en el lateral del Auditori).

- Imprescindible LA TÚNICA. No llevar ni pulseras, ni pendientes, ni anillos, ni collares. Ropa NEGRA, nada de mezclas con otros colores. El calzado también negro sin otros colores o añadidos brillantes.

- Llevar el DNI encima!!!!!.

- Quien tenga cinta, que la traiga para dársela a los niños del coro.

- Aquellos que hayan comprado entradas pero no las tengan, se les dará a la entrada del Auditori (17:30h) por lo que los acompañantes también tendrán que estar a esa hora en el Auditori. Aunque está por confirmar, seguramente sobre las 18:30h se podrá salir del ensayo para poder entregar las entradas a los acompañantes.

- Aproximadamente empezará el concierto a las 20:30h y terminará sobre las 22:00h en la SALA 1 PAU CASALS.

- Hay servicio GRATUITO de guardaropa durante el tiempo que dure el concierto.

- En la calle Padilla tenemos el parking para estacionar los coches a precio reducido de 5€ mientras dure el concierto.

El viernes pasado, en el ensayo en Sant Ferran, había una chica gravando con una cámara. Pues resulta que era de BTV y salimos en las noticias! Y yo, de casualidad, lo he encontrado. Ale, a disfrutar del video, que lo breve, si es bueno, dos veces bueno!!

Dentro de las actividades del Festival, se propone una tarde de domingo activa, abierta a todo el mundo. THE BLIND BOYS OF ALABAMA en concierto

Formados en un centro para ciegos afroamericanos en 1939, The Blind Boys of Alabama (con el entusiasta Jimmy Carter, cantante fundador, todavía al frente) no personifican únicamente las esencias más genuinas del gospel sino que, a través de versiones de artistas como Macy Gray y Prince, han tenido un papel esencial a la hora de renovarlo. En su casa ya no deben tener espacio para más premios Grammy, y sus teléfonos no dejan de recibir llamadas de músicos (entre ellos Ben Harper y Peter Gabriel) que quieren colaborar con ellos. Nadie les puede discutir que, por longevidad pero también por las impresionantes alianzas que se continúan estableciendo entre sus voces y sus corazones, son los más grandes. The Blind Boys of Alabama: un encuentro con la historia y la leyenda.

ELS GRANS DEL GOSPEL 11a EDICIÓ

La presente edición del Festival de Gospel de Catalunya (DEL 20 DE NOVIEMBRE AL 23 DE DICIEMBRE 2009), que tendrá en la actuación de los fabulosos Blind Boys of Alabama, dentro del Festival de Jazz de Barcelona, los mejores publicistas que pudiéramos haber deseado, es un homenaje a la tradición coral y del cuarteto. Corales de casi todos los puntos cardinales: la sudafricana Soweto, las americanas Georgia, Amen y Black Heritage, y la catalana Coral del Institut de Gospel de Barcelona con la solista de Nueva Orleans Bridget A. Bazile.

Primer concierto de la temporada !!!

Nueva temporada para Pijis y toca estrenarse... Sábado 7 de noviembre a la 13h en la Iglesia de la Bonanova.

Junto a las maravillosas Pavisingers, lo daremos todo para poner nuestro granito de arena de alegría y buenos deseos para esta pareja de novios.

Va a ser un sábado muy intenso pero bien aprovechado. Informo que tras la actuación, comeremos tod@s junt@s y despues iremos a la sala Luz de Gas.

VIII FESTIVAL DE GOSPEL EN LA SALA LUZ DE GAS

El Festival de Gospel de l’Institut de Gospel de Barcelona, que enguany arriba a la seva vuitena edició, s’ha consolidat com un bon espai per conèixer la música negra nacional i internacional. Al llarg de les seves set edicions hi ha actuat artistes del gènere de la talla de Mònica Green, Emmanuel Djob o Gema 4, i en aquesta ocasió el festival ha volgut centrar-se en aquesta ocasió en grups i solistes de Catalunya dedicats a la música negra. Ja sigui en clau de Gospel, Blues, Jazz o Dixie, els amants dels sons afroamericans tenen una cita amb aquest festival el proper dissabte 7 de novembre a la sala Luz de Gas (C/ Muntaner 246).

A partir de les 19,30h, el festival oferirà més de quatre hores seguides d’actuacions. Entre elles destaquen la dels Jazz Preachers, sis solistes de la mítica banda de Jazz La Locomotora Negra, i el concert que oferirà Xavi Garriga, guanyador del segon premi nacional de Lluvia de Estrellas l’any 1997, juntament amb l’orquestra i el cor de Gospel d’Esparreguera. També actuaran Morningsingers in the Fields, el grup més veterà de l’Institut de Gospel de Barcelona, amb onze anys de trajectòria a les esquenes, la banda de Dixie-Jazz New Orleans Pussycat, habitual dels carrers de Barcelona, i la macro-coral Sant Ferran’s Gospel Choir, formada per més de 200 cantants.
